“단순할수록 본질에 가까워진다. Pure와 Simple은 저의 키워드입니다.”

오소피의 작업은 복잡한 세상 속에서 잠시 멈추어 나 자신을 바라보는 시간에서 시작됩니다. 화면 위의 붓질과 나이프의 흔적에는 의식과 무의식이 만나고, 충돌하고, 다시 화해하는 시간의 흐름이 담겨 있습니다. 원형의 화면과 절제된 여백, 그리고 깊이 쌓아 올린 마티에르는 고요함 속에서도 천천히 움직이는 생명의 파동을 보여줍니다. 작품 속 여백은 비어 있는 공간이 아니라 마음과 몸을 잠시 쉬게 하는 호흡의 공간입니다.

오소피는 화려한 표현보다 덜어내고 또 덜어내며 본질에 가까워지고자 합니다. 그의 작품 앞에서 잠시 머물며 흐르는 시간과 고요한 에너지를 느껴보시기 바랍니다.

그리고 그 고요 속에서 지금의 나에게 조용히 질문해보세요.

Sophie Oh’s work begins in a quiet pause, a moment to step away from the noise and turn inward. Brush and palette knife trace the passage of time, where consciousness and the unconscious meet and find harmony. Circles, textures, and open spaces hold a quiet rhythm of life beneath the stillness.

The empty spaces are spaces to breathe — to rest, to listen, and to return to oneself.

By letting go, Sophie Oh moves closer to what is essential.
